Jotunheim is one of the Nine Worlds and is the homeland of the giants. The world of the giants is described as deep, dark forests, mountain peaks where winter never eases its grip, and similar inhospitable and grim landscapes.
Jotunheim plays host to a number of important events in mythological history which include the death of Geirröd at the hands of Thor, the kidnapping of the goddess Idun, Thrym's "marriage" to Thor and most famously, the sacrifice of Odin's own eye to Mimir in exchange for knowledge from Mimir's Well.
