Being the most aggressive of the three dwarven brothers, Fafnir was the easy choice for his father to guard the treasure laden home they lived in. Upon being presented with a cursed ring (as payment for the murder of their brother Otr) the two brothers killed their father out of greed in an attempt to have the treasure for themselves.
Fafnir then took the form of a dragon and breathed poison onto the land surrounding his father’s house which prevented anything from coming anywhere near the home and all its treasure.
Fafnir represents aggression, power and an unrelenting desire to protect that which is deemed significant or special.
