The Vegvisir is an Icelandic magical stave intended to help the bearer find their way through the weather. It depicts the Vegvisir symbol which means "that which shows the way." which can be thought of in modern terms as a compass
The addition of Jörmungandr to the outer edges illustrates the creature’s length and hold around the realm of Midgard, and the constant danger he presents to all who inhabit it
The two symbols together are a reminder that no matter which direction you may travel, danger is ever present so always be wary and on your guard.
